Mapping a system in this case refers to charting your system's (if applicable) headmates, subsystem, splits, headspace, fronting triggers, etc. If your system keeps track of this, what do you use?
My system has been using Obsidian for a few years now for system mapping and generally keeping track of things and to keep a fronting log. Recently we've been using some new plugins to make tables and better looking pages, and so we've been on a kick for mapping everything for the past month.

We recently switched to Obsidian ourselves! Its quite useful, and better than phone notes or simply plural by a landslide. We need to get better at using it though, as we arent using even half the features it has. We still have a private discord server we put notes in about notable switches when we dont have access to our bullet journal log(not for system stuff specifically but mentions notable system things) as well, but Obsidian is where the real mapping goes. We will be adding more as time goes on (log of attempting to build our headspace and whats in it, exported data from the bullet journal about notable switches, etc). Im optimistic that this will work better than other things we've tried.

While we no longer keep track of headmates (by count or in specifics) we otherwise use a combination of our private Discord server and our collective journal/sketchbook. When we were in school & at our old job we also had a separate daily sketchbook for tracking fronters, switches, innerworld news, etc.

Suppose Discord is all we've really used. We are a rather simple, and perhaps boring, system. We made PluralKit profiles that hold our basic info for easy reference if needed, but otherwise we just write in our personal server as needed. I've never heard of Obsidian. I think Kit tried Simply Plural but didn't stick with it for some reason. We also recently drew a bubble map for a visual representation of our system and communication links. If you all seem to favor Obsidian perhaps we will take a look.

We tried Simply Plural but we never kept it up. I'm not sure why. We might look into Obsydian if people recommend it. Other than that, Em made a bubble map like Ashe mentioned that shows how our System works

We keep track of system stuff in our personal discord server and simply plural, though we don't mess with anything besides profiles and groups on simply plural. We actually don't track anything besides member info, headspace and front stuff we dont really care about.

We use our Discord server, mostly. We have a couple text documents tracking things too. Haven't tried any plural apps. Headmates don't come and go so much so we don't see the need, but I'm not opposed to trying one someday. We have made a few maps of our system by hand, though.

I had every intention to start using Obsidian for other life-related things but I completely forgot about it. I'd love to see some examples of how people are using it to track system stuff. That being said, we kind of gave up trying to keep track of everyone... I feel like we all have a pretty good grasp on who's here to stay now, but I have been meaning to draw out an updated map of how we're "connected" to each other (a lot of us as individuals are made up of like... subsystem fragments? It's complicated and I don't have the language for it. Some of us are "closer" to each other than others, and I want to understand that better). Honestly, we often fall back on good old-fashioned pen and paper for stuff like that. We're lucky because our core system is relatively small - I'd estimate about 20 members, many of whom are dormant - with occasional passers-by.
