Welcome to Inner Worlds
This is a system forum with more of a focus on inner worlds and emphasis on system member individuality. It's meant to be a space for systems to communicate and connect with one another while building themselves up in the process, as well as a space to discuss some of the stranger aspects of being a system and being a person in a system.
If our forum and messages align with you but you don't have an inner world or are not an individualistic system, you are still free to join! People who are unsure if they're a system, want to try to build an inner world, or are just curious are also welcome to join.
Why this was made:
For the most part because of a lack of any resource for systems like this, since our system has never seen a space with an emphasis on the headspace and how that connects to who we are. At the time of making this, not counting Reddit or Dreamwidth, there are also no dedicated forums for systems.
For our system we wanted this to help with grounding and allow for personal exploration with others and in a community! We hope for other systems it will help to promote their own individuality and explore who we are as people within systems or people as a whole. We want this to be a less stressful and more casual community that systems can check in whenever they want to.
The reason for a forum is primarily for ease of posting and because it's less likely for topics to be as buried compared to the alternatives. The ways that forums can be archived, the ability for longer and more thought out discussions, and the ease for systems to keep their own logs and make their own threads is something that our system considered to be more key for a community like this. This is a public forum because it's meant to be viewable to anyone. Our discussions here may matter to people who are curious about plural experiences, who are trying to find others like them to know they're not alone, or those from the future curious about the state of things.
Where we stand in the plural community:
This forum is not meant to be tied to the plural community or any particular plural subculture, but as a type of neutral space outside of it. This forum exists to create a space for people who are tired of the labels over experiences culture, the lack of in-depth discussion on other social media, or who just prefer to avoid the modern internet or plural community.
Of course, it also exists to challenge idea that plurality needs to exist within a specific medical model. This forum at times may be critical of the field of psychology and the mistreatment of systems in therapy or by psychologists, but systems who do fit that medical model are absolutely still welcome and encouraged here, and systems who can be benefited to by professionals are encouraged to explore that avenue.
Making forum topics for your system or for questions about other systems is encouraged. Don't be afraid to make posts or topics!
If there's something you're curious about or want to share, go for it! Our community activity is determined by you.
